Getting Here

The island of Newfoundland is Canada’s most easterly province. It is accessible by air and passenger ferry. If you fly here you will have to land at the Deer Lake airport. The most popular airline into Deer Lake is Air Canada. Hunters flying would have to arrive in Deer Lake on a Saturday before the hunt and depart on Monday after the hunt. Reservations for flying can be arranged at the toll free number 1-888-247-2262 or by visiting www.aircanada.ca.

Hunters driving to Newfoundland would have to take the Marine Atlantic ferry from North Sydney, Nova Scotia to Port-aux-Basques, Newfoundland (crossing time approx. 6 hours). Ferry reservations can be arranged at the toll free number 1-800-341-7981 or by visiting www.marineatlantic.ca. Once arriving in Newfoundland you will have a three hour drive to the Deer Lake Motel. Hunters would have to arrive in Deer Lake on a Saturday before the hunt and could depart Newfoundland on that Sunday night after the hunt.

LODGES

Our lodges are located in the heart of Newfoundland’s interior. They are quite comfortable and located in some of the best moose/caribou areas in Newfoundland. Each lodge is licensed and inspected by the government of Newfoundland. Island Pond is a fly in lodge which has four bedrooms and two bathrooms; it accommodates four to five hunters each week. The cookhouse and guides quarters are separate from the hunter’s quarters. All guiding at this lodge is one on one.
